I thought those post hole digger auger extensions were just extra junk to buy, but they saved a job for me in Atlanta last week.
We hit solid rock about 2 feet down on 8 posts, and the 4-foot extension let us shift the hole over 6 inches without starting fresh. What's a tool you were wrong about at first?
