PSA: That $200 post hole digger I bought was a total waste of money
I thought I was being smart grabbing a fancy auto-feed post hole digger from the big box store. Cost me $200 and I figured it would save me time on a job in Tacoma last month. First 10 holes went fine, then the mechanism jammed up with some wet clay and I spent an hour cleaning it out. My old manual digger from the truck did the rest of the job faster and never broke. Anyone else had luck with a specific brand of manual digger that holds up?

Wait, let me get this straight - you paid $200 for a tool that stopped working after 10 holes and then had to switch back to the manual one anyway? Sounds like you bought a machine that's powered by hope and prayers more than anything else.
I mean, maybe it's just me, but that's a pretty expensive way to find out your old manual digger was the real MVP all along. At least now you've got a $200 paperweight that doubles as a conversation starter, right?
Honestly though, that's kind of hilarious in a painful way. You could've bought like six good manual diggers for that price and had money left over for beer.

And like, even if it did work, $200 for something that drills 10 holes max before crapping out? That's like buying a pizza that only comes with two slices and the rest is just cardboard. I get that power tools are supposed to save time but when they break down that fast you end up spending more time messing with returns and warranties than you would just digging the holes by hand. Plus a manual digger never needs batteries or a charger or some weird proprietary part that's impossible to find. Honestly that $200 paperweight is probably gonna cost more in frustration than any manual tool ever could, at least until you trip over it in the garage.
