The difference a proper post hole digger made on my last job in Tempe
I was putting up a 50 foot cedar fence for a client and used my old manual clamshell digger for the first three holes. It took me almost 45 minutes and my back was killing me. Then I switched to my new gas powered auger and finished the other 15 holes in under an hour. The holes were cleaner and deeper too. Has anyone else had a tool upgrade that saved a whole day?

That gas powered auger sounds like a total game changer!

Totally a game changer for sure! What kind of work are you using it for? I've heard they can be beasts for certain jobs but overkill for others.

Am I the only one who read "gas powered" and thought that might be overkill for a residential fence? I did 20 holes with a one-man power auger and it actually kicked back so hard on a rock that it nearly snapped my wrist. Maybe your auger is better balanced than the rental I grabbed from Home Depot, but sometimes the old clamshell gives you more control if you're dealing with Tempe caliche.
