Had to choose between a cheap airlock and a more expensive one for my first batch of sauerkraut
Went with the cheap plastic one from the local brew shop, and it cracked after a week, letting in air. Anyone know a solid glass airlock brand that won't fail on me?

That plastic aisle at the hardware store is always a gamble, isn't it.

My local hardware store has a whole aisle of stuff like that, the kind of plastic that gets brittle and snaps. Honestly, I see it with cheap kitchen tools too, like those dollar store vegetable peelers that break on the first carrot. It feels like everything is made to be replaced now. You spend a little less up front, but you end up buying it twice when it fails. Tbh, that's why I just save for the glass or heavy duty stuff from the start.
