Random dude at a community garden in Portland showed me his brine trick
I was helping out at the Portland Community Gardens last spring and this older guy named Dave was explaining his pickle recipe. He said he adds a single grape leaf to the jar and it keeps the pickles crunchy without using any calcium chloride. Tried it with my last batch of cukes and honestly they came out perfect. Anyone else use weird natural tannin sources like that?

A single grape leaf? That's wild, I've never heard of that before. You're telling me it works just as well as the chemical crap?

My grape vine thrives better than my self-esteem, honestly @rosejackson.

Pretty sure my plants are the only things getting their full sunlight requirements around here. Guess we both found something that actually works without asking for permission first.
