My Minolta X-700 shutter finally jammed mid-roll at a swap meet last Saturday

I was lining up a shot of some old vinyl records when the mirror locked up and the shutter just stopped clicking. Had to finish the roll by manually advancing and guessing exposures with a phone light app, has anyone else dealt with a stuck shutter on the X-700?

Check the capacitor underneath the mirror box, that little square one fails and cooks the electromagnet circuit. Common fix that people overlook on these.

Isn't the capacitor thing kinda overblown though? I've had two X-700s and both times it was just dirty contacts on the shutter release that needed cleaning.
