My trusty Pentax K1000 finally gave up the ghost last month

The shutter curtain jammed halfway through a roll of Portra 400, leaving me with a dozen half-exposed frames of my niece's birthday. Anyone have a good repair shop in the Seattle area they'd recommend?

Portra 400 is way too nice a film to get murdered by a sticky shutter. That's a real bummer about the birthday shots. I had a K1000 shutter die on me years back and the repair cost was almost as much as buying another used one. You might want to check out Glazer's Camera downtown, they used to have a good service department.

Actually think you should get it fixed. Those old K1000s are built like tanks and have a certain feel to them. A good repair could give you another twenty years of use.
