Just realized our closing costs hit $12,500, which was DOUBLE what our lender's estimate said. That number STUNG.

Our lender's estimate said $8,000 and we ended up paying over $15k at the table. Honestly it felt like a bait and switch with all the last minute fees they "forgot" to include. Tbh I was too stressed about the move to fight it then, but looking back I should have asked more questions. That final number just wrecked our savings plan for new furniture.

Ugh that's brutal. My closing costs were such a mess I'm pretty sure the title company used my confused panic face as the template for their "processing fee" line item. I was so focused on the rate I just signed whatever they put in front of me, like a total chump. Ended up funding my new patio set by eating ramen for two months straight.
