My inspector said my 'dream home' had a tree that could fall on the power line
I was ready to sign for a place in Cedar Rapids last fall. The inspector pointed at a big silver maple and said, 'That one's got a 30% lean toward the main service drop. You'll be calling me at 2 AM during the first ice storm.' I hired an arborist who confirmed it, and I made the seller take $2,500 off the price to have it removed before closing. Has anyone else had a deal hinge on something weird like a tree?

Smart move getting that cash upfront lol. That's a solid win right there.

Good call getting that price drop. That's a smart move, not just a weird thing. You ever see how much it costs to fix a service drop after a tree takes it out?
