TIL that old fishing lure I grabbed for $3 at a flea market is actually a vintage Heddon from the 1940s worth 10 times that.

I was skeptical when the seller claimed it was something special, but after looking up the markings online it turned out to be legit has anyone else accidentally stumbled onto a hidden gem like that?

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I found a $20 bill stuck to a gum wrapper under a bus stop bench. I almost walked right past it cause I thought it was trash. @richard_mason is totally right though, people drop stuff in the weirdest spots. I also once spotted a quarter wedged into a crack in the sidewalk that had been there so long it was almost flush with the concrete. Had to dig it out with my car key.
