Client refused a moisture barrier on their basement floor
Did a job without a moisture barrier on concrete. Client said it's fine. But I've seen moisture cause problems. Where do you all stand on this?

Seen it fail without one. Document their refusal.

But what if always documenting refusal just causes more issues? Honestly, it can make people feel like they're not trusted and slow everything down. @grantb92, I've seen things work fine when we just talk it out instead.

Look, I've done plenty of basements without a barrier. A dry slab is a dry slab. If the client's place has been bone dry for years, you're just selling them plastic they don't need. I put down flooring in my own place ten years back, no barrier, and it's perfect. Sometimes you just have to trust the situation in front of you instead of always going by the book.
