I finally stopped using my old belt sander for floor prep after a talk with a guy in Boise
He saw me working on a maple floor and said, 'You're leaving swirl marks that'll show through the finish every time.' I switched to a random orbital sander for the final passes and it made a huge difference. Anyone else have a tool they changed their mind on for final sanding?

Yeah "used to hate edgers" is so real. I read this thing about how they force you to slow down and actually look at what you're doing. Makes the whole process more about the craft, not just getting it done. Changed how I see a lot of tools now.
