I thought those cheap plastic spacers were a total waste of money.
My buddy in Phoenix swore by them for keeping expansion gaps even on a big vinyl plank job, so I tried a pack on a 1200 square foot install last Tuesday. They actually saved me a ton of time and the lines came out perfect. Anyone have a different trick for keeping that gap consistent on long runs?

My uncle used to cut up old credit cards into little wedges for spacing tile. Worked fine until his wife found out he used her new Macy's card, lol. Honestly those plastic spacers are worth it just to avoid that kind of household argument.

My buddy tried that with his wife's library card. She was cool with it until he accidentally spaced her grandma's photo behind the tile. Had to chip out a whole section to get it back. Plastic spacers cost like three bucks. Not worth the fight. Some lessons you only learn once.
