Question about a 200 square foot herringbone job that went sideways

Back in 2012, I used to cut every single piece for a herringbone pattern by hand, which took me three full days on a job in Tacoma. The homeowner walked in, looked at the floor, and said 'It looks like a drunk snake did this.' Now I just use a precision miter saw with a stop block, which cuts the time down to a day and a half. What's the dumbest old-school method you finally gave up on?

Okay, hold up. A day and a half with a stop block setup still sounds like forever for 200 square feet. The real game changer is a good tile saw with a sliding table and a built in angle stop. You just set the angle and length, feed the tile, and it's perfect every single time. Cuts the whole job down to a few hours, tops. That old stop block method was just a half step up from cutting by hand, honestly.

Yeah, but Eric, not everyone has a grand for a pro tile saw. My old wet saw with a homemade jig got my bathroom done in a weekend.
