Remember when we used to mix our own color putty? I tried it on a 1960s parquet repair in Spokane and it turned out... interesting.

Oh man, parquet is usually a shellac finish, right? I think you need alcohol-based dyes for that, not oil-based putty.

Actually shellac is usually on old parquet but most modern stuff has a polyurethane finish. Alcohol dyes can mess up poly if you're not careful.
