A customer told me my bouquets smelled like a wet dog and I was so embarrassed

So I've been doing this for like 3 years and never thought about the greenery going bad before the flowers. A lady picked up a mixed bouquet I made with some eucalyptus and ruscus and she called me an hour later saying the whole thing smelled musty. I checked my cooler and realized I was storing my greens way too long, like sometimes a week or more before using them. Now I swap out my stock every 4 days max and toss anything that looks even a little sad. Has anyone else had a customer point out something basic you totally missed?

Greens go bad fast. Swap em sooner and problem solved.

Last week I bought a head of romaine on Monday and by Wednesday it was already slimy inside. Maybe it's just the store I go to but I feel like greens these days don't last as long as they used to. Not sure swapping them out sooner really fixes the bigger issue of them going bad way too fast in the first place.
