My walk-in cooler door handle snapped off at 6 AM yesterday, right when I had 3 wedding orders waiting.
Had to wedge a wooden dowel from my flower stand into the latch hole just to keep the door shut while I finished arranging 45 centerpieces, has anyone else jury-rigged their cooler with random hardware store stuff?
Kinda worked different than that actually. I wedged it in at a slight angle so it held the lid just barely cracked open, about an inch or so. To get it open the rest of the way, I just pulled the dowel out by hand and propped the lid up with a stick from the yard. It's a real low tech fix but it did the trick for a couple hours while I waited for a new latch to show up.
