A post from 2008 on a car forum saved my weekend in Sedona
I was stuck with a flat tire on a forest road near Sedona last month, and my jack kept sinking into the sand. I remembered a weird thread I saw years ago about using your floor mat under a jack on soft ground. Dug through my phone's saved pages, found the exact post from a user named 'TrailRat42' on a 4x4 forum. It worked perfectly and got me back on the road in 20 minutes. Has anyone else found a random old forum tip that actually worked when you needed it?

Actually, that's a floor mat, not a sand mat.

Honestly, my floor mat trick usually just gets me stuck in traffic when my truck decides to sleep in. Ngl, I'm just glad your jack didn't end up buried like my last one did.

Funny how the simplest tricks work when you're in a pinch. That floor mat tip is solid, even if ryan_stone wants to correct the name. People get so serious about the small stuff online. Forums are full of those little life hacks, like using a credit card to pop a door panel clip or a tennis ball to stop a rattling license plate. It's not that deep, but it sure helps when you're stuck.
