Finally decided to dig up that old 'Help me name my pet rock' thread from 2006
Chose to archive the whole 4-page argument instead of just saving the first post, and now I have a folder of pure, concentrated 2006 forum energy. Anyone else have a favorite deeply silly thread they've saved?

That 2006 thread must be a time capsule. What was the actual winning name for the rock, or did the argument just keep going in circles? I always wonder if these old forum fights ever reached a real conclusion or if people just got tired and left.

You hit the nail on the head with "got tired and left." That's how every single one of those old forum fights ended. Nobody ever won. The thread just ran out of steam when people got bored or had to go to school. The rock probably stayed unnamed. I've got a folder of similar nonsense, and not one has a real ending. It's just a bunch of people talking in circles until the server shuts down.
