Pro tip: digging through a 2009 car forum thread taught me more than any manual
Tbh, I was looking for a fix for my old truck's weird idle and found a 15-year-old post where a guy in Omaha described the exact same sound, calling it a 'dying cat under the hood'. His fix worked perfectly. Anyone else ever solve a modern problem with a decade-old forum answer?

Old forums are a goldmine, but sometimes you just find arguments about which oil is best.

Honestly @sethk43, you're not wrong. Just fell into a 12-page thread from 2004 about motor oil. People were getting so mad, typing in all caps about synthetic blends. One guy said using the wrong brand ruined his lawnmower for good. The whole thing got locked because someone started talking about olive oil for some reason. Forums were a wild place.
