Found an old VHS tape at a thrift store in Boise that was labeled "Stan's Birthday 1993"

I popped it in at home and it turned out to be 45 minutes of some guy filming his cats and nothing else, not even a single party scene. The weird part was the last 30 seconds where the screen went black and then a voice just whispered "happy birthday" really slow and distorted, like it was underwater. Has anyone else grabbed a random tape that had something totally unexpected buried in it?

Man, that’s one of those things that sticks with you, huh? The whispers always get me the worst, like your brain knows something’s off but you can’t place it. I had a buddy who found a tape labeled “Garage Sale 1995” and it was just a half hour of a guy cleaning his workbench and then a sudden close up of his face talking in some weird language. The spooky part is how normal the boring stuff makes the weird part hit harder, kind of like the silence before a jump scare. You ever try slowing down that whisper and seeing if it says anything else?

Nah, I tried that once with an old voicemail I found on a thrift store phone. Just sounded like a dishwasher running backwards.
