Found a 1970s diary in a box of old books at the Goodwill in Springfield

Spent $3 on it, and it turned out to be a gold mine. It's filled with daily entries from a guy who worked at a local factory that shut down in '78, plus some really detailed drawings of the machines. Anyone know a good place to donate something like this for local history?

My uncle found a stack of letters from the 40s in his attic wall. They were from the old owners, just talking about planting tomatoes and a broken radio. He ended up giving them to the town library, they have a little local history shelf. Maybe check if Springfield has something like that.

That's such a cool find from your uncle, @hollym12. It's wild to think those everyday notes got sealed away for so long. Giving them to the library was a perfect move, it keeps that little bit of the past alive for everyone. Makes me want to go poke around in my own attic now.

Imagine finding a broken radio being big enough news to write down. That really shows how much daily life has changed. Makes you wonder what we write now that will seem just as strange later.
