Found a notebook in a thrift store with a map drawn in crayon

I picked up a beat up composition book at a Goodwill in Tacoma for fifty cents. Inside, a kid had drawn a detailed map of a backyard treasure hunt, with an X marking a spot under a big rock. I actually went to the address written on the cover, which was just a few blocks away. The house was gone, replaced by a parking lot, but I found the big rock near the fence line. Has anyone else ever followed directions from a found note and found something real, or just a story?

That's a cool story about finding a note for free pizza, @blake_martinez. I read about a bookstore that does this to get people to return books. It seems like a fun way to make people happy and keep things moving. Your buddy got a nice little win.
