Found a notebook in a thrift store with a story that got way darker

I picked up this old composition book at a Goodwill in Tacoma for like fifty cents. At first it was just normal stuff, grocery lists and phone numbers. But about halfway through, the writing changed. It turned into this detailed story about a person watching their neighbor's house every night. The entries got more intense over maybe two months, talking about lights being off at weird times and a car that never moved. The last page just said 'called the cops today' with a date from 2012. I've had it for a week now and I keep thinking about it. Has anyone else found something that started normal but took a sharp turn into something that felt real and kinda creepy?

Buddy of mine found a journal with homemade maps to a spot he swore matched an unsolved missing person case.

Wait, he actually went out there? That's the part that gets me. Like he didn't just find the journal and call the cops, he drove out to some random coordinates in the woods? Did he at least bring a buddy or a gun? People vanish for real doing stuff like that. Hope he didn't end up being another missing person case himself.
