Found a weird trick for reading faded pencil in an old diary
The entries from 1998 were basically invisible, but holding a blacklight flashlight from my Halloween box over the pages made the graphite glow just enough to read 'bought 3 CDs, total regret'. Has anyone else had luck with a weird method like that?

Try a blue filter over a regular flashlight.

Oh yeah, I've actually tried that and it works way better if you use a dimmable flashlight so you can control the brightness. The blue filter helps cut through the yellowing but you gotta mess with the distance too, hold it at an angle not straight on. Just don't use one of those super bright tactical lights, it'll wash everything out completely.
