Had to pick between two old notebooks at an estate sale last month

I was at this estate sale in Portland and found two notebooks side by side. One was a 1940s ledger with columns of numbers and the other was a beat up spiral with sketches of birds and poems. I grabbed the spiral for $3 and it turned out to be this teenage girl's diary from 1972 with drawings of her cat named Jasper. Has anyone else ever had to choose between two finds and wonder if you picked wrong?

My buddy had a similar thing at a garage sale, had to pick between a beat up camera bag and a box of old comic books. He grabbed the comics and later found out the camera bag had a vintage Leica in it. He still jokes about it lol.
