TIL a blacklight can reveal hidden notes in an old journal

I found a leather journal from the 1970s at a yard sale in Boise for two dollars. The pages looked mostly blank, but I remembered reading about invisible ink. I borrowed a UV flashlight from a friend who uses it for checking pet stains. When I shined it on the pages, whole paragraphs in faded blue ink lit up, detailing someone's cross-country trip. Has anyone else tried this method on a seemingly empty notebook?

My old baseball cards had secret codes that only showed up under UV light.

Honestly, my only experience with a blacklight was in a gross college apartment. Tbh, I was just trying to see if the carpet was as dirty as I feared. Spoiler, it was way worse. Never even thought to use it on something cool like an old journal. My luck, I'd find a hidden grocery list from 1992.
