Why I'm worried about the numbers in that 1997 planner I found
I picked up a used planner from a thrift store in Des Moines last weekend. It was dated 1997 and the owner had kept detailed logs of their daily spending. The thing is, they listed the same exact amount spent on groceries every single week for 52 weeks straight. $42.37 each time, never changed. I flipped to the back and found a note that said 'remember to update the numbers before the auditors come.' That gave me a real uneasy feeling, like maybe this wasn't just a regular person's diary. Has anyone else run across a journal or notebook that seemed more like a cover story than real life?
