I finally sorted out my cable mess behind the desk and it cut my stress big time.
Working from home as a freelancer, I always had a jungle of wires under my desk that would tangle and distract me. Every time I needed to plug something in, it was a five-minute hunt that broke my flow. Last Monday, I bought some cheap cable ties and a basic organizer from the hardware store. I spent an hour routing everything neatly and labeling the cords with tape. Now, my feet have room and I'm not tripping over charger cables. My mind feels clearer just not seeing that chaos every day. It sounds small, but a tidy space makes tough client calls easier to handle. For anyone struggling to focus, start with the physical stuff around you.

I mean, good for you I guess? Just feels like maybe we're calling any little annoyance "stress" now. Not sure a neat desk actually changes tough work problems.

Honestly though, is a clean desk actually a game-changer? My workspace is a disaster zone but I still hit my deadlines. Feels like we're mixing up being comfortable with actually solving work stress.
