Pro tip: I switched from a 2-inch foam brush to a 4-inch china bristle for applying shellac on a large dresser

The china bristle held more finish and laid it down way smoother with fewer streaks, which cut my time in half. Anyone have a favorite brush for oil-based poly?

Purdy brushes all the way for poly, they just don't shed.

Ever tried a Wooster brush, @ray723, because mine never shed either?

My last Purdy brush lost three bristles on the first coat of a cabinet door. That was a brand new 2.5 inch angled brush. I had to pick them out of the finish. I've had way better luck with the cheaper Wooster brushes holding up for water based poly.
