Update: I thought stripping a painted dresser would be a weekend job

The original paint was lead-based, so I had to switch to a chemical gel and it took three full weeks. Anyone have a faster method for that situation?

You tried that gel stuff too? I spent a whole weekend mixing up some "miracle" compound and ended up with a lumpy mess that looked like expired yogurt. Maybe I should just stick to duct tape and hope for the best.
