After three years of using a cheap tablet for my route planning, I finally upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 and the screen clarity is a game changer for reading maps in the cab.

Last month I pulled over at a truck stop in Amarillo, loaded up my usual app on the new tablet, and for the first time I could actually read the tiny street names without squinting.

Man, I know that feeling! My old tablet was so bad I'd have to zoom in on a state road like it was the fine print on a contract. I'd be sitting there, finger-dragging across blurry pixels, trying to figure out if that smudge was "Springfield" or just a dead bug on the screen. The upgrade must feel like getting a new pair of glasses.

Read something the other day about how a lot of old tablets are actually running outdated GPS chips too, not just cruddy screens. So even if you can see the map okay, the thing might be putting you on a road that doesn't exist anymore. Good to see you got a real upgrade there, @eric_carr. Nothing worse than having to guess if that dead pixel is your next turn.
