Remember when everyone said wireless earbuds were just a fad?

I bought a cheap pair back in 2018 for like $30 and they were awful, died in an hour. Totally wrote them off. Then I tried a friend's newer ones last year and got a full 6 hours on a charge, with sound that was actually clear. The tech just got way better, way faster than I thought it would. Now I use mine for my whole commute and the gym without a second thought. What's something you were sure would flop that actually got good?

That "fad" feeling... my friend got super into a hobby last year and now all the groups are dead.
