A complex braid job lasted until midnight
Each strand had to be just right for the wedding. Now I quote extra time for ornate styles to avoid late finishes.

People get so weird about time quotes for wedding hair. Finishing early makes them feel cheated, even with FLAWLESS work. One bride got mad her updo took less time, so she used the extra hour to stress about lipstick. Another client complained about paying for buffer time, but her hair survived a whole reception without budging. You basically need a crystal ball to quote perfect times, and mine is always cloudy.

At Sarah's wedding last month, the braider finished early despite a tight schedule. Extra quotes might scare off budget clients. Plus, who wants to pay for time that isn't used?

Totally agree about extra quotes scaring budget clients! I had a cousin's wedding where the braider quoted for three hours but finished in two. The bride felt cheated even though the work was perfect. Now I always explain the time estimate is a worst-case scenario to avoid hurt feelings.
