Spotted three houses on my street with the same condenser coil issue this month

Makes me wonder if there's a common factor we should all be looking out for.

Are they all the same brand or from the same install job? A shared fault like that would point to a common cause. Could be worth asking around if anyone used the same contractor.

Check if they were all put in around the same time. My own coil went bad after a lightning hit nearby, which messed up a few units. The power company found a problem with the ground wiring. You should call them to see if others have the same trouble.
