Tried to get into educational podcasts and downloaded a total dud

I was looking for something to learn from during my commute. Picked a podcast that claimed to explain science in simple terms. Turns out it was just the host ranting about their personal theories for HOURS. Now I'm back to square one and feeling pretty annoyed. How do you even find good ones without wasting your time?

Did you ever buy a beginner's guide that was just full of inside jokes? I picked up a gardening book last year that kept using terms without explaining them. Spent a whole Saturday confused about what "hardening off" meant before I tossed it. Now I flip through a few pages in the store before buying anything like that.

Ugh, that is the worst! My friend Sam picked a podcast on economics that said it would make complex topics easy. After two episodes, he realized it was just the host pushing their own weird ideas. He felt totally tricked and mad. Now he always reads the reviews and listens to a short clip before he commits. Do you usually check out user feedback before diving in?
