Found a cheap way to keep my patio plants watered during heat waves

I use old yogurt cups with tiny holes poked in the bottom. Fill them with water and place them near the plant roots. It gives a slow drink that lasts all day.

Ngl that's such a smart trick. I do something similar with old plastic soda bottles. Just cut the bottom off, bury the neck near the roots, and fill it up. It creates a perfect slow drip system for my tomatoes.

What exactly went wrong with it? I tried that bottle trick too and it flooded my plants. Turns out you need way smaller holes poked in the cap, not big ones. If the seal at the neck isn't tight, all the water just dumps out at once.
