At a beach yoga session, a dog joined our downward dog pose
The pup just laid down next to me mid-pose.

Noticed you said child's pose but the post mentioned downward dog. Those are two totally different positions, right? Still a funny story either way.

Totally had a labrador crash our outdoor class once. Just plopped right in the middle of the mat circle during child's pose. The instructor just went with it, said to breathe through the distraction. Honestly, the dog chilling out actually made the whole vibe more relaxed for everyone. Finished the session with a four-legged guest snoring in savasana. Sometimes the best moments are the unplanned ones.

That's the thing about animals in spaces like that... they cut right through the whole performative vibe. A studio can feel so fixed up, everyone trying so hard to be zen. Then a dog wanders in licking faces, tail thumping during quiet time. It reminds you that real calm isn't about a perfect setting, it's just being present. Those messy, unplanned breaks are what you actually remember.
