My aunt saw my code and asked if I was making a virus by accident
I mean, I was just following a beginner tutorial on functions, but now she checks on me every hour like I'm about to break the internet.

Notice this a lot with older folks and technology. They see something they don't understand and jump to the worst idea. My grandma once thought I hacked the bank because I was checking my account online. It's not just code, it's anything new or complex to them. They mean well, but it gets old fast when they watch you like a hawk. Just gotta laugh it off and maybe show them what you're really doing.

Totally agree with you @ben_lopez25! My grandpa once accused me of wiretapping the house when I was setting up a smart speaker. It's just a lack of tech comfort, but patience goes a long way.

Actually, I used to laugh until one explained their real fear.

Man, @the_seth nailed it about the real fear. My mom was convinced her car radio was spying on her because it played a song she'd just been thinking about. Took me forever to explain it was just a wild coincidence and satellite radio. She wasn't being funny, she was honestly scared. It's that deep worry about things they can't see or control. Once you see that, you can't just laugh.
