A guy on a 1997 guestbook told me my GeoCities page hurt to look at, and he was right
He left one line in my guestbook at 2 in the morning: "too many tiled backgrounds and three blinking GIFs on one page is making my eyes hurt." I counted and he was right, so I cut it all down to one dark background and one spinning email icon, and the page loaded way faster on my dial-up too. What is the first thing you cut when a visitor tells you your 90s page is just too much?
