Fighting a marquee tag for 3 hours on a fan page for the band Pavement
Last month I poked at an old Geocities-style fan page for Pavement that a buddy and I are rebuilding, and one scrolling marquee in the header would NOT sit still where I put it. It kept shoving the whole left frame down about 40 pixels no matter what width I typed into the tag. I tried tables, I tried nesting it in a div, then I finally popped open the page in Netscape 3.04 out of spite and spotted a stray align=left inside the marquee itself. Took 3 hours for one dumb line of code. Did any of you deal with marquees throwing off your table layouts back in the day, and is there a clean trick for it?
