Finally picked a background for my Geocities fan site revival
I was stuck between a starry night .gif and a solid teal marble tile, and went with the stars (it just felt more '97). Has anyone else spent way too long on a single background choice?

Totally should have gone with the teal marble. That starry gif is way too busy and will make the text hard to read. The marble was the classier, more timeless choice.

The marble tile would have been a SOLID foundation. That starry gif is pure visual noise and will absolutely murder readability. You could have even done a simple border with the marble and kept things clean.
