Hit 50 bookmarks on my old Geocities page and it totally surprised me

I keep a 1997 Geocities site about punk show flyers that I thought nobody even looked at anymore. Last week I checked the guestbook and saw someone from Portland, Oregon left a message about a show I went to in '98. That made me realize I had 50 bookmarks from people who actually use the site regularly. It changed my mind about keeping it online because I figured it was just digital junk nobody cared about.

Back in 2001 I had a site for local skate spots in Denver. Had maybe 30 hits in two years. Then a guy from Toronto emailed me a photo of himself skating a curb I'd posted. That was the moment I got it. Those 50 bookmarks aren't just numbers, they're real people who dig what you're doing.

Man that Toronto thing is wild. Really puts it in perspective.
