Hit 5,000 unique visitors on my Geocities shrine last month and I still don't get how anyone found it

I just checked my raw server logs and 5,000 people actually visited my Midge the Mermaid fan page with that ugly neon star background, so has anyone else had a random old site blow up like that with no promotion?

Course it was a fluke, maybe bots or your own refreshes.

Did you check if it got linked from a weird old directory or something?
