I spent 6 hours rebuilding a GeoCities shrine to my hometown and the hit counter jumped from 9 to 214 in one weekend
Turns out the only thing killing that page was a dead midi file and a table cell that broke in Netscape, and fixing those two things did more than any fancy redesign ever could, so what old site did you rescue with one dumb little fix?

A dead midi file and a broken table cell, that's such a classic fix. My buddy had the same thing with his old punk zine page, swapped one missing jpg for a text link and his guestbook went from dead to 40 entries.
