My whole GeoCities fan site archive just vanished from a floppy disk

Tried to pull up my old 'Space Jam' fan page files last week from a 3.5-inch disk I had stored... the disk is completely corrupted and won't read. I had about 50 HTML files and all those animated under construction GIFs on there. Has anyone else had luck recovering data from old disks, or is it a lost cause?

Did you try a data recovery service? My buddy sent a dead Zip disk to one and they got most of his old band's MP3s back, cost him a bit though. Might be worth looking into for that Space Jam shrine.

Paying a whole service for old MP3s and a SpaceJam thing? That's a lot of cash for something that probably won't work out anyway. Those places charge like $200 just to look at it, and there's no guarantee it'll come back. Maybe just try shaking the disk real hard first - nobody's got that kind of money to waste on a maybe.

Seriously, a whole service for some old movie stuff? That feels like overkill unless it's super important to you.
