Remembering a guy who emailed me about my Geocities shrine page

Back in 1998 or so I had a tiny fan page for a band on Geocities. Lots of tiled backgrounds and a scrolling marquee, the works. One day I get an email from some random guy named Dave in Ohio. He said my page had the best midi file of a live bootleg he'd ever found and asked if I could burn him a CD of the whole show. I mailed it to him for free, stamps and all. He sent back a hand written letter thanking me and telling me how he drove his 82 Corolla across three towns just to hear it on his car stereo. That stuck with me because back then the internet was just people being cool to each other over weird niche stuff. Has anyone else got a story like that from those old boards or email chains?
