Spent 6 hours trying to fix a table layout in Netscape 4.7

I was updating my old Angelfire fan site last week and ran into a nightmare with nested tables. The layout looked perfect in IE5 but completely fell apart in Netscape 4.7, like half the cells were just gone. I swear I spent a whole Saturday afternoon messing with cellpadding and colspan before realizing I had an unclosed tag. Has anyone else had a browser compatibility issue that ate up way more time than it should have?

Wait, you said you spent six hours on a table layout for Netscape 4.7? I can't believe people still bother with that dinosaur browser.

Ever actually tried matching pixel widths across IE5 and Netscape side by side, @betty126? Spent more nights than I care to admit fixing those single pixel table gaps. It's a pain, but those old quirks taught me more about layout than any modern framework ever did.
