That Geocities site about 1990s vending machine snacks was way more interesting than I thought
I clicked on this Geocities page last week that looked like garbage with its bright yellow background and blinking text. It was all about cataloging every vending machine snack from the 90s. I figured it would be some kid's joke project. But the guy wrote detailed reviews of things like Fruit String Thing and Sodalicious candy. He even had photos of the wrappers scanned in from his home scanner. Turns out he tracked down old factory records from a town in Ohio to confirm launch dates. Now I'm actually using his site to find discontinued snacks on eBay. Has anyone else found a hidden gem like this on an old Geocities or Angelfire page?

@carter.jennifer you're giving this guy way too much credit. Factory records from Ohio for vending machine snacks? Come on. The dude probably just made up half those launch dates and nobody's gonna fact check him on Ring Pops from 1997.

Wait, the guy actually found old factory records in Ohio just to confirm launch dates? That's insane. I've got to see this Fruit String Thing review because I honestly forgot that existed until right now. I would have just accepted whatever launch date a random blog said, but this dude went full detective mode on vending machine snacks. Sounds like someone's retirement project or maybe a midlife crisis that actually turned into something useful.
