Caught a reflection in a puddle yesterday that looked like a painting
I was walking home from the bus stop near 12th and Pine. There was this oily puddle on the sidewalk after it rained. The sunlight hit it just right and made swirls of purple and green. I stood there for like 5 minutes staring at it. It looked exactly like an abstract watercolor piece. Now I carry my phone out more when it rains. Has anyone else stopped to photograph weird puddles or cracks in pavement?

Hold up, wait. You go back to check on a specific crack to see if it got bigger? That's honestly kind of brilliant, I've never thought to track one like that.

I live over by Green Lake and there's this one stretch of sidewalk near the tennis courts that has a crack shaped exactly like the state of Texas. Saw it while walking my dog last spring and now I check on it every few months to see if it's spread to Oklahoma. That puddle thing you described sounds like the same kind of brain glitch where your brain just decides something boring is suddenly art. I've got like forty photos of rust patterns on an old dumpster behind the QFC on 45th. They look like abstract mountains if you squint.
